My popular press publications have centered around my work as a union activist with the Graduate Employees’ Organization, the union representing teaching and graduate assistants at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. My research and teaching has focused on the problems of economic and political inequality as they relate to media and communication. I see graduate employee activism as part of this larger struggle because compensation for graduate employee labor, particularly tuition waivers, is crucial for access to higher education. If you would like to chat with me about labor and union issues, you can reach me at email@example.com.
